The original model (37-0078), highly praised as a support guide for the critical needle insertion position and angle in Yamane Flange IOL Scleral Fixation, has been significantly updated. We have changed the base material and newly adopted DLC coating*1 to further enhance usability. This new model debuts with key improvements designed to ensure smoother, effortless needle insertion.
Surgeon-Centric Updates: Enhanced Visibility and Usability of the Insertion Point.
We introduced a new triangular guide for clearer identification of the insertion point. Alignment markers have been changed to engraved markings for improved visibility. The highly polished top surface, essential for horizontal confirmation, has been maintained.

- What is DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) Coating?
DLC is a type of thin-film coating primarily composed of carbon, known for its diamond-like properties. Its main characteristics are high hardness, excellent wear resistance, and, critically for this instrument, a very low coefficient of friction. DLC also offers high corrosion resistance and biocompatibility, making it safe and proven for use on stainless steel surgical instruments. In this product, we specifically utilized the low friction (superior lubricity) to achieve drastically smoother needle insertion.
