Since pioneering the once-impossible titanium frame manufacturing technology in 1981, Sabae has gained global recognition. Eyeglass frames, which require both delicacy and durability, go through nearly 300 intricate production steps. Each step is handled by specialized craftsmen and businesses that work together like a single factory. CHARMANT began in Sabae as a small manufacturer of eyeglass frame components. Today, it has grown into one of the world’s leading comprehensive eyewear frame manufacturers, directly supplying products to major retailers in Japan and 9 countries worldwide, and distributing to over 100 countries.
In 2012, CHARMANT entered the medical field as a new business venture. Leveraging its proprietary laser micro-welding technology and advanced equipment—often difficult for specialized medical device manufacturers to adopt—the company now provides high-quality, high-precision stainless steel surgical instruments that help reduce the burden on surgeons. These products are a direct result of the precision metalworking skills honed through decades of eyewear frame production.
